水面的氣泡

釣魚是在星露谷物語中一種使用釣魚竿或蟹籠捕捉魚的技能。

釣魚竿是甩入水中來釣魚。把魚鈎甩在水中冒泡的地方，釣上魚的速度會更快。按住鼠標左鍵（會出現一個進度條），施放拋出。施放時進度條的多少決定了釣魚竿能被拋多遠。通過按方向鍵或WASD來稍微改變釣魚的位置。這可以幫助改變不合適的水面冒泡的位置。當魚咬鈎的時候，單擊鼠標左鍵觸發迷你遊戲。

釣魚的迷你遊戲的目標是讓小魚保持在長方形釣魚條的覆蓋區域內，直到右邊的進度條上升到頂端為止。長按或連續點擊鼠標來使矩形釣魚條增長。釣魚技能等級和好的釣魚竿能增強長方形釣魚條。較高的釣魚技能等級和好的釣魚竿也能使魚的不規則運動減少。

立即點擊提高可以將魚保持在釣魚條的上端，但會有一個輕微的延遲時下降。如果魚的圖標高於或低於釣魚條，進度條會減少，減到沒有時魚便會逃走。當玩家一直把魚控制在釣魚條區域內，釣上以後會有「完美」的字樣。

有時一個水池會冒泡，拋到那個冒泡點會增加你的點擊量。當它開始冒泡時，你將知道你該拋到正確的池塘點。

Xbox控制器

當使用Xbox控制器時，首先需要準備好釣竿。點擊並長按鍵，放線時鬆開即可。魚鈎入水後，馬上再次按住鍵。一旦接到魚咬鈎的警告 （玩家頭頂會出現一個！並伴隨着提示音），然後鬆開鍵進入迷你遊戲。點擊/長按/鬆開或快點鍵來進行釣魚。

釣魚技能會影響到釣到的魚或垃圾或者收穫蟹籠的產品

每升一級釣魚竿的熟練度+1，增大最小的魚的大小（英寸/厘米）和浮標的高度，減少魚咬鈎前的等待時間。釣魚技能也會增強釣的魚的品質（銀星或金星）。

寶箱

在釣魚迷你遊戲時，一個寶箱偶爾會出現在豎條上。寶箱有自己的進展條，保持綠色的進度條在寶箱的圖標的後面。如果獲得了寶箱，玩家將在釣到魚後隨機獲得一件戰利品。失去魚的話也會失去寶箱。

發現箱子的基礎幾率為15%。幾率可以增加，寶箱魚餌（+15%）、寶箱獵人（+5%）和海盜（+15%）總共增加50%。幾率還可以通過每天的運氣 +（運氣 / 2.0）%和一個隱藏的運氣等級 +（運氣等級 × 0.005）%進一步增加。
