將蟹籠放置在水面上（湖邊、池塘、河岸、海灘都可以），然後投下魚餌即可吸引小魚小蝦入籠。在學習誘餌大師技能之後不裝魚餌蟹籠照樣工作。

蟹籠能和用魚竿釣魚一樣增長釣魚的經驗值，且被撈上來的水產品也能被算入捕魚大師的數量當中。

蟹籠可以在釣魚3級之後習得藍圖自行打造，或者在魚店以data-sort-value="1500">1,500金的價格購入。當完成魚缸的 蟹籠收集包收集任務後，會獎勵3個蟹籠。

海灘捕撈物

以下水產可以在沙灘海面上放置蟹籠進行捕撈。

銥星品質的蛤、鳥蛤、蚌或者牡蠣只能在學習了覓食技能植物學家的情況下獲得，蟹籠可獲得的水產品質最高為金星。
