如果玩家发现一个突变蛆，只需要持续进行攻击，在它逃跑时追上去将其杀死即可。它们不会像史莱姆一样集气攻击，因而如果玩家武器的击退力较强，那么它不可能对你造成伤害。
如果玩家遇到一群突变蛆，那么可以用击退力较强的武器将它们逼至角落，这样它们就失去了逃跑的可能。一定要保证它们没有退路，否则单独攻击一群突变蛆将会非常危险。弹弓装有可爆炸的弹药在此也非常有效。
