It is possible to place chests (or other [[Crafting|craftable]] items such as [[furnace]]s or [[bee house]]s) around town in many locations. This is useful to allow the player to store items for gifts close to the home of a [[villager]] that loves particular items or to allow additional storage when [[Fishing]] or [[foraging]]. If a [[villager]] walks through the square where a chest (or similar item) was left, the item will be destroyed. Below are player-created maps to indicate which tiles on the map are safe from [[villager]]-pathing.
